Environment, Climate & Animal Welfare

At PWT Group we want to take on our responsibility to minimize our negative impacts on environment, climate and animal welfare. We look at our own business practices as well as to how we can support suppliers to build up capacity and knowledge on how to reduce their negative impacts.

We have not yet developed a specific policy on environment and climate, however, the area is covered in our CSR Policy Commitment.

Restricted Substances List

Our Restricted Substances List (RSL) was updated in 2018, and is based on the Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament, also known as the REACH regulation, with some voluntary commitments as well. This RSL is updated annually and distributed to all suppliers.

We have established a test program in collaboration with Bureau Veritas, and for each sale selected products are sent for testing at Bureau Veritas’ local laboratories.

Animal Welfare Policy

All relevant suppliers are required to sign and comply with our Animal Welfare Policy. It states, among other things, that we only accept leather from animals bred for the food industry, that mulesing is not accepted, and that we do not accept live-plucking.

Sustainable materials

PWT Group has not yet developed a strategy on sustainable materials, however, we are working on this. We are constantly looking for innovative and more sustainable quality materials for our products.

One example is the concept of Sustainable Wash, which we have developed in collaboration with our jeans supplier. With the Sustainabale Wash, water use is reduced with 50 % and the use of pumice stones and chemicals have been eliminated.
